Drivers in Steinbach can expect intermittent road closures and traffic pattern changes over the coming weeks as the City completes asphalt overlay work in the Stone Bridge Crossing area.
According to the City of Steinbach, construction is underway on Stone Bridge Crossing from Provincial Trunk Highway 12 North to Albert Street, as well as Maplewood Street from Loewen Boulevard to Stone Bridge Crossing, Cypress Place, Meadowood Place and surrounding neighbourhood streets.
Closures and access changes expected
The City says the work will require ongoing intermittent road closures and traffic management adjustments throughout the project area.
At present, the intersection of Stone Bridge Crossing and Highway 12 North remains open to local traffic only, with temporary closures occurring as needed to accommodate construction activities.

Residents and motorists should also be prepared for short-term closures affecting portions of Stone Bridge Crossing, Maplewood Street and nearby roads. Access points to Stone Bridge Crossing from Home Street and Albert Street are also expected to close periodically over the next several weeks.
For residents who may be directly impacted, contractors are expected to provide at least 24 hours' notice before any road closures that would affect driveway access.
Project expected to wrap up in late July
The City says the asphalt overlay work is part of necessary road maintenance and is expected to continue through late July.
Motorists travelling through the area are encouraged to follow all posted signage, watch for changing traffic conditions and use caution around construction crews and equipment.
The City is thanking residents in advance for their patience and cooperation while the work is completed.
Intermittent road closures and traffic management changes in the area are expected to end by late July.
