Golfers, sponsors and supporters of Steinbach Bible College (SBC) gathered at Quarry Oaks Golf Course on Tuesday for the college’s annual golf tournament, raising funds to support the school’s ongoing operations.
SBC President Dave Reimer said the tournament serves as both a fundraiser and an opportunity to connect with supporters of the college.
"We're gathering together a bunch of partners and friends to golf together, to tell stories together and to raise some money," said Reimer.
Advancement Director Patsy Buhler said proceeds from the tournament help sustain the college’s day-to-day activities and mission.
"This is a tournament that raises a large part of our general fund, which is that fund that keeps our school open and being able to develop more leaders for church and for the world," said Buhler.

Beyond raising funds, Reimer said the event helps strengthen relationships within the community.
"It means some finances coming in for us but it also means connection with a lot of partners, people who love SBC, people who want SBC to do well," he said. "We just appreciate all of our sponsors and all of the golfers and our partners."
Buhler added that seeing the community rally around the college has been especially meaningful.
"Seeing the whole community come together has been a real pleasure, a real, real honour," she said.
Golfers competed in a Texas scramble format, with teams of four using the best shot from each stroke throughout the round. The tournament also featured on-course contests and prizes for top-performing teams.
Participants enjoyed breakfast before heading onto the course and wrapped up the day with a steak dinner and awards presentation.
