It was a busy Thursday evening for emergency responders in Steinbach, with multiple incidents reported across the city during extremely hot conditions.
Just before 7 p.m., Steinbach RCMP and ambulance crews were spotted on Highway 52 at Loewen Boulevard. At least one vehicle was seen being towed from the scene. Few details were immediately available Thursday night, and it is not yet clear whether there were any injuries.
Then around 8:15 p.m., Steinbach fire crews responded to another incident on Highway 52, this time west of Industrial Road. A white pickup truck was involved, though details about what happened were limited as of Thursday evening.
The busy stretch for emergency crews came after another call earlier in the day involving a vehicle fire on Highway 12 near Chuck’s Roadhouse. All three occupants were able to safely escape the vehicle before it caught fire.

The incidents unfolded as southeastern Manitoba remained under a Heat Warning. At 9:10 p.m., the temperature in Steinbach was still sitting at 28 degrees, with overnight temperatures only expected to drop to around 21 degrees.
The prolonged heat can create difficult working conditions for emergency responders, particularly firefighters wearing heavy protective gear.
