Niverville country artist Catie St. Germain is preparing to celebrate a major milestone in her music career with the release of her new five-song EP and a special release party.
The event, scheduled for June 4, comes after months of work and several recent single releases, including Salt in the Wound, which has been gaining attention on country radio.
For St. Germain, the project represents more than just another collection of songs.
"I've come such a long way from putting out my first song, I think it was 2023, and I haven't really stopped to smell the roses and celebrate and bring people together," she says.
The EP's title track, 100 Proof, will be the final unreleased song on the project. St. Germain says she has been holding onto the track for more than a year, waiting for the right opportunity to share it.

Growing through ups and downs
"The last year of my life has been pretty crazy," she explains. "I've had ups and downs in music and in the business and stuff. As much as it hurt at the time, I really grew through it and learned so many lessons."
She describes the song as a fun, cheeky country-rock track that reflects personal growth while remaining relatable to listeners.
The recently released Salt in the Wound took a different approach. St. Germain co-wrote the song with a songwriter she met through the Canadian Country Music Association network. Rather than drawing directly from her own life, she challenged herself to write from another perspective.
"I wanted to write this breakup song about not being sad or being a little bit sarcastic about it," she says.

Time to celebrate
The release party will feature performances from the Irvin Miller Band and Muddy River Band with St. Germain's brother making the trip to Manitoba to perform as part of the opening act.
Beyond celebrating new music, the evening will be extra special.
"My family's flying in for it," said St. Germain. "It'll be a bit of a reunion."
She credits her family, husband, band members and supporters for helping her navigate the challenges of pursuing a music career while raising a family.
"It takes a village and I couldn't do it alone," she said.
With more songs already recorded and additional projects planned beyond the summer, St. Germain says the EP release party is both a celebration of how far she has come and a launching point for what comes next.
