RCMP are investigating a fire overnight at the St. Maurice Parish in Morris.
According to police, the call came in around midnight. RCMP say there was a small fire in a tree, which included a statue of the Virgin Mary. Firefighters extinguished the blaze.
RCMP say that nearby windows were found to be cracked due to the close proximity of the fire. No other damage was noted.
Police say this was the second fire call of the night. The first call came in around 11 p.m., where a small jacket had been placed near the intersection of Main Street and Charles Avenue, and set on fire. No damage was reported and police say the fire was out by the time the fire department arrived.
Both of these matters remain under investigation.
